"'Tis the season for giving" is not just a routine Christmas saying or a marketing slogan for us. The Top Gear PH team has been given many blessings in 2016, so we felt it was important to share our good fortune with others. This year, we wanted to do something special that would make a real difference to someone's holiday spirit.
We got our wish when Ford Philippines offered us an EcoSport stuffed with lots and lots of toys to be given away. How could we say no? The good folks at Ford had a similar goal: To give some holiday cheer to the kids who might not be feeling it. So we borrowed Stig's Santa hat, dressed the crossover up like Rudolph, and hit the streets to spread the love.
Some kids were helping their parents eke out a living. Others were sleeping in whatever inch of pavement they could find. No matter where we found them, the joy they showed at receiving the gifts was the same. Beyond just giving them new toys to play with, we were optimistic about giving them some hope for the future as well. The toys made them happy, and watching them play made us smile, too.
