Any form of competitive racing, whether it be Formula 1, karting, or anything else in between, is not for the faint of heart. Hopping into the cockpit takes guts, determination and the will to risk life and limb, all for the sake of competition.
Just ask 16-year-old Gabe Tayao, who'll be representing the Philippines out on the track in this year's Formula 4 racing series. He's been into motorsports since the age of seven, and has racked up hundreds of podium finishes and wins in different competitions over the past five years.
Now, he's ready to take his passion to a whole new level. This Sunday, August 7, 2016, he'll be at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for his inaugural Formula 4 race. Rooting for fellow Filipinos on the international stage has become somewhat of a pastime for us. Let's be sure to give him our support when he takes to the track.
