Any of you guys fans of Akira? The 1988 sci-fi anime has had a huge cult following since its release and is rightly considered one of the best in its genre. One of its highlights (at least for gearheads) is the motorcycle that belonged to main character and biker gang leader Shotaro Kaneda. Even today, fans fondly remember the bike well, from its cruiser/sports hybrid design to the Canon logo on the side.

While scouring Instagram, we discovered one fan who turned the memorable motorcycle into a four-wheeled work of art. Walter Kim is an L.A.-based artist and designer who creates stunning car renders and concepts. One his pieces turned Kaneda's bike into what Kim describes as a "Porsche RSR mutant." And yes, the Canon decal is also there.

But it's not just the Akira car that caught our attention. Walter's Instagram page is chock full of his breathtaking designs. Some like the Akira piece blend different elements together (he recently did Blade Runner renditions of some iconic cars) to imagined concepts of road and race cars. We've embedded some of them here for your perusal. Enjoy!
