TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - World Car of the Year Award names top three finalists

The top three finalists for the World Car of the Year have been revealed in Geneva before the winner is named at the New York International Auto Show in April.

Battling it out for the 2011 World Car of the Year title are the Audi A8, the BMW 5-Series and the Nissan LEAF. A recent poll on TopGear.com.ph showed that our readers top three favorites for this award are the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (32 percent), Volvo S60/V60 (13 percent) and the BMW 5-Series (11 percent).

The seven finalists that didn't make the cut to the top three are the Audi A8, BMW X3, Jaguar XJ, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Porsche Cayenne and Volvo S60/V60. (See photos of the finalists here.)

Aside from the World Car of the Year finalists, the World Car Awards also announced the top three cars shortlisted for the World Performance Car, World Green Car and World Car Design of the Year awards.
