These Nike Dunk concept sneakers are based on Takumi Fujiwara’s AE86 from ‘Initial D’

When it comes to footwear, there’s only one thing a car guy keeps in mind before purchasing a pair: “Can I drive in these?” Admittedly, you can drive wearing just about any pair of shoes. But you want something light and preferably flexible, with soles thin enough for you to be able to feel your car’s pedals.

You probably know them as either old-school basketball sneakers or stylish skate shoes—but either way, Nike Dunks don’t exactly fit the description of a proper driving shoe. This conceptual pair by customizer no-brainer*, though? We’d rock it any day of the week.

The look itself is pretty clean with a primarily white and black colorway, but there’s a handful of design choices that pay homage to the classic Initial D manga and anime series by Shuichi Shigeno.

On the sides of the shoes, you’ll find the same Fujiwara Tofu Store decals slapped on the side of Takumi Fujiwara’s iconic AE86 drift machine. The black and white colors are also an ode to anime’s main car. Meanwhile, the tongues of the sneakers feature the AE86 model name and the Nike swoosh logo.

Incredible stuff, but like we said, this is all still conceptual. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this thing go on sale, though, considering no-brainer* sells its custom sneakers and has an actual online store as well. Would you cop these?
