It’s been a while since Apple last released an ‘affordable’ version of its iPhone, the previous one coming out nearly three years ago. Now, the tech giant has a replacement for the last SE model—behold, the new Apple iPhone 16e.
Let’s get right to it, then, and let’s start with the appearance and the display. The iPhone 16e gets a notch atop its 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display and an aluminum with glass back. For reference, the 15 and 16 models have the same types of display, only those get the Dynamic Island instead of the notch. Another important thing to note here is that the 16e also gets a Face ID feature.
Visibly, of course, the 16e clearly has just a single camera. That’s a 2-in-1 48MP Fusion camera with super-high-resolution photos. It has portrait mode with depth control as well as various photographic styles. It has only 1x and 2x zoom options—no wide angles here.

The 16e also doesn’t have the camera control on the side, but it does come with Apple Intelligence. This makes it even more impressive than the 15 despite being priced P5,000 less. The 16e also has an A18 chip with a four-core GPU, just one core fewer than that of the 16, 16 Pro, and 15. The iPhone 15 also has just an A16 Bionic chip processor.
Battery-wise, the iPhone 16e still boasts up to 26 hours of video playback, just up to par with the standard 15 and 16 models. The 16e also has a USB-C port that supports USB 2.
