If you’re a fan of both Lego and Formula 1, you should be aware by now that both brands have joined hands in a multi-year partnership. And now they’ve announced their first drop, so that’s it for your 13th-month pay and Christmas bonus this year…
These Lego kits are being released just in time for F1’s 70th anniversary in 2025. Naturally, we want everything, but the entire grid of Lego Speed Champions models is particularly tempting. Well, half the grid, because you don’t need two of each. Or do you?

Each F1 Lego Speed Champions kit contains around 250 to 270 pieces (some have bits that bend the rules, after all) and is recommended for those aged 10 and up, so we’re counting ourselves in that demographic. It’s priced at $26.99 (approximately P1,590). You can preorder one already, but it won’t be available until March 2025. How’s that for delayed gratification?

What’s coming out earlier are the various kids’ sets under the Lego Duplo and the Lego City range—both will be out starting January 1st. The 70-piece Lego Duplo Town F1 ($44.99 or around P2,650) features one car and one driver each from all 10 teams, plus a starting grid and even a podium setup. That ensures there won’t be team orders and the top three come from different teams, though only the winner gets a trophy.

Meanwhile, there are six different Lego City F1 sets to choose from, including a Ferrari F1 car with a pit setup and crew (strategists not included, which sounds about right), and an F1 truck with Red Bull and Aston Martin cars (we wonder if Lego waited for the Newey announcement before deciding on that pairing). These sets cost anywhere from $12.99 to $99.99 each (around P765 to P5,890).
Finally, the last release from this batch will be the Lego F1 Collectibles, coming out on May 1st next year. It’s a much more budget-friendly way to complete your full grid, too, costing just $3.99 (P235) each.

“We’re delighted to finally reveal this incredible lineup of products coming in 2025,” says Daniel Meehan, creative lead at the Lego group. “We hope these products will provide hours of creativity and play for F1 and Lego fans alike, allowing them to recreate their favorite racing moments, as well as create some new ones.”
“This fantastic range caters to our entire fan base, with each set celebrating a crucial element and the intricate details of the world of Formula 1, from the pitstops and team garages to the car itself,” says F1 chief commercial officer Emily Prazer. “We share our fans excitement to see this special partnership come to life and I cannot wait for fans to start building.”
So it’s lights out and away our paychecks go...
