Did you know that the Honda Motocompo celebrates its 45th birthday this year? To celebrate, Honda is teaming up with Seiko for a limited-edition watch packed with details and easter eggs that call back to the quirky two-wheeled companion to the City and the NSX.
The new reference HDB010 is based on a Seiko 5 Sports, arguably the Japanese watchmaker’s most ubiquitous model. Specifically, it uses the ‘Mid-Field Collection’ as a starting point; the field watches’ military inspiration gets recontextualized with the utilitarian nature and charm of the Motocompo.
The 36.4mm-diameter steel case is unaltered, and still measures 12.5mm thick and 44.4mm long lug-to-lug. It gets a matte-black hard coating to mimic the Motocompo’s frame, with a yellow dial bisected by a Honda-branded stripe to represent the body panels. The ‘Automatic’ text typically found on the dial of Seiko 5 Sports models has also been done in the Motocompo logo’s pixel-like typeface.

The text inscriptions on the crown and strap loops are also fun details that call back to the two-wheeler’s fuel cock and harness points, respectively. Turning the watch over also reveals a red crystal caseback decorated with the Motocompo’s silhouette and the Honda wordmark. The 4R36 automatic movement is also still visible behind the tinted crystal and retains its 100m of water resistance.
Of course, as a special model, it also gets special packaging treatment. It comes in a brown cardboard box branded with Honda and Seiko elements that mimic the corrugated box Motocompos were shipped in.
As mentioned earlier, this Motocompo Seiko will be a limited run of just 8,000 units. The Seiko Philippines website declares a price of P27,500, and the model is now available for preorders with arrivals expected to begin in Q1 2027.
