Avid riders know that one helmet is never enough. You need a lid for a particular type of bike and for each different ride. A full-face helmet is nice and all, but it’s not always the most comfortable to use, especially when you’re just strolling around the city.
That’s why having an open-face helmet in your lineup is important. Dan’s just dropped a new one, and it’s worth checking out: the new Bell Scout Air. It’s a stylish open-faced helmet with a bit of a retro look.

As the name suggests, the Bell Scout Air is incredibly lightweight. It weighs under a kilo at just 785 grams for the medium-sized version. Its ‘Tri-Matrix’ shell comprises a mix of Aramid, carbon fiber, and fiberglass.

Bell says the Scout Air uses an ‘in-mold’ construction wherein the internal expanded polystyrene (EPS) liner is combined with the Tri-Matrix shell, which helps keep it compact and lightweight. Despite that, however, the Bell Scout Air still meets both DOT and European ECE standards.

Out of the box, the Scout Air comes with two choices of visors. It can be further accessorized with a full-face visor, or you can simply wear goggles over it to protect your eyes while riding. As mentioned, this lid is now available at Dan’s Philippines, and it comes in six sizes (S-XXL) and can be had in various colors. The SRP is P9,990.
We’ll have a full review of this new helmet soon, but for now, you can check out more photos of it below. What do you think of Bell’s newest lid, readers?
