That Lego can easily keep car guys preoccupied for hours or days on end with its Technic sets isn’t a secret. The toymaker is showing, though, that it can do the same for passionate motorcycle fans as well.
This is the Lego Technic BMW M1000 RR—a brick version of the German motorbike manufacturer’s 212hp superbike. It’s a looker, all right, and it’s a pretty sizeable piece at 1:5 scale, too.
The set measures 455mm in length, 170mm in width, and 277mm in height. It’s made up of 1,920 individual Lego bricks and features a handful of functional components to go along with some impressive attention to detail.
The three-speed gearbox, for example, actually works. The same goes for this Lego motorcycle’s upside-down fork and rear swingarm. Three display options are available for the dashboard, and the drive chain comes in a snazzy gold color. Lego has even thrown in a paddock stand and a pit board for a little extra flash if you want to keep this up on display on a shelf or desk in the office.
Want one? This set carries a $229.99 (P11,600) price tag. Sadly, you’re out of luck if you’re planning to buy this toy for someone this Christmas. It only becomes available in January 2022.
It’s definitely neat, but the scale might be wrong if you want to plop it beside your completed Lego Technic cars. Do you like what the company has done with this BMW motorcycle?
