The Internet is a mysterious place. Everything that goes viral isn’t always exactly new. Most of the time, sure, something bizarre might have happened, but every once in a while there’s just old content within some part of the web that gets unearthed out of nowhere and we’re all just suddenly talking about it again.
Case in point: this V8-powered custom motorcycle. And it’s not just a V8—it’s a Ferrari 355’s V8 at that. You’re looking at a 3.5-liter powerplant on a bike. Damn.
Okay, we’re not mad at the recent virality. On the contrary, we’re glad because we got to see this beast of a bike. This was built by an old Danish chap named Birger Hansen who happens to like motorcycles. Judging by this build, we assume he likes bikes a lot.

Will Ferrari be happy about this targa-top Testarossa conversion?

Hansen shared in the video—which was uploaded in 2019, by the way—that he had the idea about 10 years prior when he was at a pub with his friend Michael Andersen. The goal was “to do something that no one had done before.” Hansen suggested building a motorcycle with a Ferrari engine, and Andersen agreed to get the engine as long as Hansen built it.
Eight years passed—grueling ones, most likely—and Hansen eventually finished the bike. He estimates about 100 parts were made specifically for this build. It looks absolutely insane, and we reckon it sounds glorious, too, with that Akrapovic exhaust out back. Too bad the video didn’t have enough clips to show off the engine roar and the exhaust note.

We’re not sure if this bike is still alive to this day, but we hope it is. Maybe one day we get to see it in the metal, and we can properly hear how the bike screams.
