Yamaha has finally revealed the 2021 edition of its benchmark bike in the hyper-naked segment, the MT-09.
The standard model gets a more powerful 890cc DOHC liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine (versus the previous 847cc unit), and is roughly 3.6kg lighter thanks to a new lightweight aluminum frame. The naked bike features a six-axis inertial measurement unit, resulting in what Yamaha claims is best-in-class electronic control technology. It also has a 3.5-inch full-color TFT instrument display as part of its minimalist yet next-generation design.
Here’s the first look at the 2021 Yamaha MT-09 in action. Watch:
According to Yamaha’s official website, the updated roadster motard— available in Storm Fluo, Matte Raven Black, and Team Yamaha Blue—will be available abroad starting January 2021 with an SRP of $9,399 (around P454,700).
