Calling the attention of all classic-bike riders: the 2024 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is right around the corner. It’s that time of the year again to ride dapper for a cause.
The DGR is the world’s largest motorcycling charity event and it helps raise funds to support Movember Foundation and ongoing work on prostate cancer research and men’s mental health programs. 2024 marks DGR’s 11th year with British motorcycle brand Triumph Motorcycles as its sponsor and the event’s 10th year in Metro Manila.

Over 90,000 riders in about 900 cities across 100 countries are expected to join DGR 2024, and a total of 19 cities around the Philippines will be participating as well. There were 1,883 registered riders from Metro Manila last year and the number is expected to grow even higher for 2024. Throughout the years, the DGR has raised over $32,000 (more than P1.8 million), and it has its sights set on another $10,000 (about P570,000) in 2024.
Those who wish to participate in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride this year, first and foremost, must have a two-wheeler that fits the event’s style guide. Cafe racers, modern classic bikes, choppers, or bobbers fit the bill, just to name a few.
Riders, of course, must also be dressed for the occasion. Men’s attires include formal suits, tailored vests, suspenders, bow ties, and leather shoes or boots. Women, meanwhile, can wear ’50s-style dresses or pantsuits, among many others.
DGR 2024 is happening on May 19. Will you be joining the dapper ride this year?
