Harley-Davidson has brought back its Super Glide nameplate for a limited release of 2,500 units in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The 2026 Super Glide sports its iconic red, white, and blue colorway from the first generation in 1971.
The Super Glide is considered Harley-Davidson’s first factory custom motorcycle. Designed by Willie G. Davidson, the 1971 FX Super Glide was inspired by home-built custom motorcycles he saw riding around Los Angeles. Before the Super Glide’s arrival, Harley riders needed to modify their touring and standard motorcycles, often removing windshields, saddlebags, and large fenders to achieve the look they wanted.

The 2026 Super Glide uses a 1,923cc Milwaukee-Eight 117 Classic V-Twin engine producing 98hp and 163Nm of torque. It’s built on Harley-Davidson’s Softail chassis and has that vintage appearance with the rear monoshock suspension hidden beneath the seat. The front features a dual-bending 49mm fork and 19-inch spoked wheels, while the rear has 16-inch spoked wheels.

While the Super Glide pays homage to its past, it’s still a modern bike and benefits from today’s safety tech. It has disc brakes for both front and rear wheels, and is equipped with straight-line and cornering ABS, traction control, drag torque slip control, and tire-pressure monitoring.

Other features include selectable ride modes, including Road Mode for daily use, Sport Mode for more spirited rides, and Rain Mode for when the roads lack traction. There’s also a 5.75-inch LED headlamp, combination-style LED taillights, an analog speedometer above a multi-function display, and a USB-C charging port.
Apart from the new Super Glide, Harley-Davidson also announced the new Road Glide Liberty Edition model, the fourth addition to the 2026 Liberty Edition Enthusiast Collection. The limited-run collection includes the Street Glide, Street Glide 3 Limited, and Heritage Classic Liberty Edition.
In the US, the Super Glide starts $15,999 (around P968,00 before taxes)—that’s not bad at all for a special-edition release of an icon. Based on the limited production of 2,500 units, the 2026 Harley-Davidson Super Glide will most likely not make its way to the Philippines. One can hope, though.
