Honda is going back to its roots, and it’s unveiled what could be the most beautiful and exciting retro bike it’s built in a while. Ladies and gents, say hello to the all-new Honda CB1000F. It’s the new CB500 Super Four’s bigger, classier brother.

Unlike the CB1100 RS from other markets, which is more of a neo-retro-fied modern naked bike, the new CB1000F pays homage to the CB750F, the O.G. four-cylinder Honda which the likes of the CB400 Super Four, the CB650R, and the CB1300 are derived.

Honda has always had retro bikes in its lineup, but this one is a bit different. The CB1000F is a beautiful expression of the classic design. It’s boxier and more chiseled, and it just screams ’80s motorcycles. There’s that round headlamp up front, the sharp-looking fuel tank, the rugged saddle, and the aggressive-looking rear end. It looks absolutely gorgeous, and if there was one thing we’d change with it, it would be the side mirrors.

If we wanted to go all-out on the classic styling, we’d swap out that instrument cluster for analog gauges, too. But of course, modern tech is essential in a modern bike. At least that modern look somewhat blends with the lack of the round side mirrors...right?

Anyway, speaking of modern tech, the head unit is a five-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Honda RoadSync, which is almost standard in Honda’s newer models. There’s a smart key, too, which is a bit handy but can also take away from the full retro experience.

Regardless, you’d need all that tech along with safety features like dual-channel ABS (with cornering ABS) and Honda Selectable Torque Control when you’re riding a bike powered by a 1,000cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder screamer. This puts out 122hp at 9,000rpm and 103Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. This is the same, albeit detuned, unit in the CBR1000RR Fireblade. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with an assist/slipper clutch.

The CB1000F also features ride-by-wire technology and is fitted with 41mm Showa SFF-BP USD front forks and a Showa rear shock with a Pro-Link linkage. It also has three different ride modes—standard, rain, and sport—with two other user-customizable presets.

Stopping power is handled by dual 310mm front discs with four-piston radial-mount Nissin brake calipers and a single 240mm rear disc with a Nissin single-piston caliper. The bike weighs 214kg when wet and has a 16-liter fuel tank. Ground clearance is listed at 135mm, while seat height is  795mm or 31.29 inches.

We’ll be able to get up close and personal with this at the Honda booth at the upcoming 2026 Japan Mobility Show. Tell us: Would you like to see this bike make its way to the Philippines?
