What if we got more electric motorcycles in our market? We all know Honda Philippines launched the EM1 e: a few months back. But why stop there, right? They already got the ball rolling, so it only makes sense to build on that momentum.
We’re rambling here because the Honda CUV e:, another battery-powered scooter from the Japanese brand, was just launched at the 2024 Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA). Seeing as it already arrived in Indonesia back in October, it’s a bummer Europe got dibs before we did.

But hear us out here, it’s not too farfetched to have the CUV e: in the Philippines. See, it uses the same Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries as the EM1 e: that can be used in a dedicated swappable battery system or charged on its own using a proprietary device. If in case Honda Philippines decides to push the former, then at least the CUV e: will have already been compatible with that.
It’s a pretty capable scooter as well, with over 70km of range and a top speed of 80kph. It also has a five-inch TFT display that can be upgraded to the seven-inch instrument cluster with Honda RoadSync Duo functions. It also gets a USB-C socket, reversing assist, and three ride modes. It can be accessorized with a windscreen or a topbox as well, among other options.
If, hypothetically speaking, Honda launches the CUV e: here and prices it competitively, it might actually work. It fits the bill for those looking for an alternative to the daily commute. What do you guys think? Should Honda make it happen?
