The new Royal Enfield Scram 440 gets a bigger engine and new colors

We’re guessing it’s only a matter of time before this model lands in PH

When Royal Enfield finally unveiled the next-generation Himalayan 450, there was a subsequent question that popped up: What’s going to happen to the Scram 411? That model’s still relatively young, but is RE going to replace it soon?

Well, we now have our answer, as the Indian motorcycle manufacturer has just unveiled the new Scram 440. As a side note, it seems RE’s wasting no time with these launches—2024 was a busy year for the brand, and it looks like 2025 might be the same.

Design-wise, the Scram 440 appears the same as the 411. There’s a round headlamp up front, a sizeable fuel tank that appears to have been borrowed from the old Himalayan, and tank guards on both sides. There are still plenty of colors to choose from, and RE has even added new colorways for its hip scrambler bike.

What’s noticeably new are the mags underneath. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve only ever seen the old 411 with spokes. Here with the Scram 440, it looks like riders will have more options available.

Of course, the other thing that’s new is the engine. The new Royal Enfield Scram 440 is powered by a 443cc engine air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a long stroke (LS440), producing a healthy 25.4hp at 6,250rpm and 34Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The new Scram 440 sits on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod in dual-purpose tires. Stopping power is handled by a 300mm hydraulic disc up front and a 240mm hydraulic disk at the back. Dual-channel ABS that’s switchable at the rear comes as standard.

The bike has 190mm of travel up front and 180mm at the rear. Its seat height is listed at 795mm (31.2 inches) and ground clearance is 200mm. It weighs 187kg when dry and 196kg when wet and has a 15-liter fuel tank.

What do you think of Royal Enfield’s newest creation? We won’t even ask you if you’d like to see it here, because the way things are going with Royal Enfield Philippines, chances are this bike’s arriving here sooner rather than later.
