The 2024 Makina Moto Show is in full swing, and after the Access Plus’ launch of the new Multistrada V4 RS to open the day, Suzuki Motorcycles Philippines has followed it up with a pair of new big bikes.
Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the new Suzuki GSX-8R and GSX-S1000GX. If these ring a bell, then that’s probably because you’ve read about these two before when they were launched at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo Accessori (EICMA) last year.

First up, the GSX-8R. This is the faired sportbike version of the GSX-8S and is powered by the same 776cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that’s paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
The bike is equipped with LED headlights, an LCD instrument cluster, and forged aluminum separate handlebars. The bike has 145mm of ground clearance, has a seat height of 810mm, and weighs 205kg wet. It also gets a 14-liter fuel tank.

Up next, the GSX-S1000GX. This stylish sport-tourer is powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled, four-cylinder gasoline powertrain that’s mated to a six-speed constant mesh manual gearbox. It’s fitted with twin disc brakes up front and a single disc at the rear.
Toys for this one include the Suzuki advanced electronic suspension (SAES) with automatic rear suspension modes. SAES electronically controls suspension damping and preload according to speed, road surface conditions, and posture changes caused by braking. It also gets Suzuki road adaptive stabilization (SRAS), which detects uneven road surfaces and adjusts the suspension using SAES.
As far as prices go, the new GSX-8R stickers for P679,000, while the GSX-S1000GX goes for P969,000. What do you think of Suzuki’s new bikes? Check out more photos below.
