Believe it or not, three motorcycle brands held launches over the weekend. One of those was Suzuki, which has now brought in its two new retro bikes: the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT. We’ve been wondering since the global launch whether or not these will actually make it to our market, and now they’re here. It hasn’t even been a month.
If you missed the news, the GSX-8TT is the black bike with the cowl pictured here. The other, of course, is the GSX-8T. Visually, they’re very different, but mechanically, they’re virtually identical.

The GSX-8T is more akin to a proper naked bike with its simpler styling that was inspired by the Suzuki T500. The ‘T’ in ‘8T’ actually refers to ‘Titan,’ the T500’s pet name. The GSX-8TT, meanwhile, has a more retro vibe with the aforementioned headlight cowl and the striped colorway. This one is derived from the GS1000 AMA race bike.

As mentioned, these two bikes share the majority of their mechanical parts. Both are powered by a 776cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This engine has a 270-degree crankshaft, which Suzuki claims echoes the revving feel of the beloved V-twin SV650.
Both the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT also come standard with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.). This suite of technologies includes a drive-mode selector, a traction control system with three selectable modes, a bi-directional quick shift system for clutchless shifting, ride-by-wire throttle technology for better throttle feel, and low-RPM assist to prevent stalling.

These Suzuki twins are also equipped with a five-inch TFT LCD instrument clusters and have 16.5-liter fuel tanks.
As far as color options go, the GSX-8T can be had in Metallic Matte Steel Green or Metallic Matte Black, while the GSX-8TT in Glass Sparkle Black or Pearl Matte Shadow Green. The Suzuki GSX-8T stickers for P699,000, while the GSX-8TT retails for P729,000. What do you guys think of Suzuki’s newest offerings? Sound off in the comments.
