The Yamaha NMax has been chosen as the official paddock scooter for MotoGP races. This development came after Yamaha Motor Company and Dorna Sports signed a new agreement assigning the Japanese motorcycle giant to continue being the official supplier for the premier racing league.
It was in 2005 when Yamaha first became the exclusive supplier of scooters for Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder and promoter of MotoGP. This time, a total of 25 brand-new NMax 125s will be used by staff as transport around the circuit during race events.
The NMax units are powered by a 125cc Blue Core engine that is Euro 5-compliant. This agile scooter also features Bluetooth connectivity via Yamaha’s MyRide app.
“We’re very happy to continue our long-standing agreement with Yamaha and for them to remain on board as the official scooter supplier of the Championship,” said Dorna Sports managing director Pau Serracanta. “Yamaha supplies quality, reliable scooters for Dorna staff to use in the MotoGP paddock and make the logistics of running the world's fastest motorcycle World Championship that much more efficient.”
Paolo Pavesio, marketing and motorsport director for Yamaha Motor Europe, added: “Yamaha will provide a fleet of the updated NMax 125, a scooter that, with excellent agility, easy stability, generous inbuilt storage capacity, and its sporty Yamaha DNA, has been a bestseller in both Europe and Asia, and is a perfect fit for the demands of the MotoGP paddock.”
