To celebrate its 10th 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, Audi is marking the occasion by releasing 100 units of a limited-edition variant of the V8-engined R8 coupe--and it will be available only in the United Kingdom.
The Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition comes with a titanium-finish, 19-inch "5-arm double-spoke Y design" alloy wheels inspired by the R8 GT Coupe, which are then accented by red brake calipers. Although all normally optional metallic and pearl effect paint options will be included in the Limited Edition's price of £93,935 (P6,530,154.77 at £1:P69.5178), the German carmakers is offering "for maximum visual drama" a Titanium Metallic paint finish that is exclusive to the variant model but at an extra cost.
On the inside, the Limited Edition R8 has Black Fine Nappa Leather-upholstered seats and headrests with crimson red accents to the sides to complement the red contrast stitching. The design theme continues with the red stitching on the flat bottomed, leather-covered multi-function steering wheel and instrument cowl and by the crimson red leather finish on the monoposto. Completing the look are the knee pads and passenger door handle finished in red leather while the floor mats have a red surround and feature the R8 logo in silver.
The R8 V8 Limited Edition is also available with an optional Carbon Package, which adds carbon sigma sideblades, door mirrors, monoposto, inlays and door sill trims to the car. What's even more impressive, however, is that the racing-inspired material also frames the illuminated engine bay to highlight the car's potent V8 engine through the rear window.
Powering the R8 V8 Limited Edition is a 4.2-liter mid-mounted engine, which puts out 430hp and runs from zero to 100kph in 4.6 seconds in both manual and R tronic automated manual transmission. Top speed is electronically limited to 301kph.
