Have you been looking forward to seeing the new-look Santa Fe? Well, no need to wait any longer, as Hyundai has revealed the first images of the refreshed SUV.
As was shown to us in the first teaser image, the new Santa Fe has been given a much larger grille with an overall cleaner front fascia. The fog lamps have been adjusted to flank the grille, and new vertical DRLs have been added as well. The front bumper sees some minor changes, too.
Out back, the taillights have been redesigned to connect from one end to another across the rear hatch, while there were some slight alterations made to the rear bumper. Also, by the looks of it, Hyundai may have done away with the old shark-fin antenna.
Hyundai didn’t give a preview of the interior, but it did say that the new Santa Fe now has a more spacious and comfortable cabin. There’s also a new 10.25-inch infotainment system with pre-loaded maps and satellite-based voice-guided navigation. Plus, the entire center console has supposedly been reworked for better ergonomics and to allow for bigger storage up front.
The Santa Fe will also get a new terrain mode selector function, which allows drive optimization for sand, snow, or mud. It also enables selection among four different drive modes: Eco, Sport, Comfort, and Smart. The Smart driving mode is an automated feature that selects a specific mode according to the driver’s style.
“We modernized the New Santa Fe with premium features and appealing aesthetics that are sure to add value,” said Hyundai Motor Company senior vice president and Global Design Center head SangYup Lee. “The bold lines that extend from one side to the other and from front to back give Santa Fe a rugged yet refined look that SUV customers want. Besides, we’ve added numerous features and functions to create a truly family-focused SUV that is a pleasure to drive.”
As of this writing, Hyundai has made no mention of the powertrain. Once we receive more updates, we’ll keep you posted. For now, tell us what you think of the facelifted Santa Fe in the comments.
