Okay, so more details about Maserati’s upcoming ‘super sports car’ have been revealed. But it’s not a cause for a lot of celebration.
Alright, I take it back—it’s a cause for some celebration still. The only detail Maserati revealed about its soon-to-be-launched sports car is that it will be officially called the MC20. Hooray for that? No, not really. But hooray for what MC20 stands for: Maserati Corse 2020, the supercar that signals the Trident’s return to racing.
The MC20 also marks the brand’s entry into the ‘new Maserati era’ and it’s a new era indeed—it’s upping its EV production, remember? Anyway, here is the official teaser video of the upcoming car:
This vehicle was said to be developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab, and will be built at Maserati’s historical Viale Ciro Menotti plant. After this, it will make its way to the brand’s home in Modena where it will be shown to the world for the first time in May.
So, while we might not have details yet about the engine and whatnot—not even press photos or renders of the finished exterior—at least we can easily expect the MC20 to be one monster of a car. It will be built for the track, after all.
