For the 2024 model year, the Honda City Hatchback gets a few exterior tweaks here and there. The changes made to the outside give it further distinction from its four door counterpart. It includes a larger grille with a unique pattern, along with a sharper front apron and new foglight housings.

The rear bumper gets a slightly different look, too. The lower section features a more prominent piece of trim, larger than that of the pre-facelift model. New wheel designs are also part of the 2024 update, along with a selection of new colors.

Inside, it’s largely similar to the sedan and the outgoing version. Most noticeable is the redesigned multi-information display, now with a full color display. Interior trims get a new look, while the touchscreen gets a refreshed interface.

Additional features have been added to the new City. These include automatic headlights for higher trim levels, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a walk-away locking system. The new rear seatbelt reminder is a welcome safety feature to ensure everyone in the car is buckled up.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup. It includes features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane departure warning, just to name a few. But new this year is the addition of Lead Car Departure Notification, telling the driver that the car in front has moved ahead.

In Thailand, the City hatchback is available with two powertrain options, none of which is the familiar 1.5-liter i-VTEC that the Philippine market has. The first is a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo that makes 120hp and 173Nm of torque and shifts with a CVT. The other option is a 1.5-liter hybrid that employs the brand’s e:HEV technology. It has a combined output of 124hp with the electric motor pushing 253Nm of torque and a eCVT to take care of shifting.
