Believe it or not, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been around for three years already. Thanks to its concept car looks, it still hasn’t looked like it aged one bit. Still, three years in the market means this EV is due for a bit of a minor model change.
And that’s exactly what Hyundai did for the 2024 model year. The new Ioniq 5 gets subtle tweaks inside and out, a new variant, and a major technical update.

The big news on the outside is the addition of the N-Line version. True to its name, it gets sportier-looking bits, namely a sharper set of bumpers, unique wheels, and ground-hugging side skirts. Interestingly, there are no red highlights here and are likely reserved for the (much) hotter Ioniq 5 N.

There are more N-Line goodies inside the new Ioniq 5. There’s a dedicated steering wheel and dashboard, exclusive metal pedals, and a black headliner. Deeper bucket seats are also included in the mix that feature the N logo and contrast stitching.

As for the standard, non-N-Line versions, it also gets a few exterior and interior changes here and there. The front apron has been totally redesigned, along with the rear bumper diffuser. New alloy wheel options are part of the update, along with a larger center console and new color choices.

So, what’s the major technical update? The main attraction here is the increased battery capacity. From 77.4 kWh, it’s now at 84.0 kWh that should do it favors when it comes to range. Per Hyundai’s figures, the new battery pack allows it to travel up to 533km on a single charge for the RWD model and 487km for the AWD version.

Other updates? Hyundai says it further improved the vehicle’s noise isolation, as if it wasn’t quiet enough. There’s also the next-generation infotainment system called connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), and it’s also is equipped with wireless Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates.
