Audi has been on a new car launch spree this year. There’s the all-new A5, the first fully electric A6, and the heavily updated RS3. Now, it’s one of the marque’s bread and butter models that gets a full model change.
No, it’s not the A4. Besides, it has been superseded by the A5 as the company’s fuel-fed D-segment offering. It’s a model that has quickly become one of the best-sellers of Ingolstadt, the Audi Q5.

Indeed, the Q5 is Audi’s top-selling model. That’s thanks to strong sales over in North America and that region’s insatiable appetite for crossovers and SUVs. With the premiere of the all-new BMW X3, Audi wants to take the spotlight away from the Bavarians.
In response, Audi has revealed a teaser photo of its next-generation Q5. Yes, photo, as in singular. That’s all the German automaker is showing for now, but one could say that it’s unmistakably Audi.
We see a dynamic-looking headlight with a distinct LED daytime running light arrangement. It follows the form of recently launched models from the brand. We also see a small bit of Audi’s Singleframe grille.
Since it’s an odd-numbered model, the all-new Q5 won’t have a full electric model. Instead, it’ll be a mix of turbo petrol, turbodiesel, and hybrids. Audi says the powertrain lineup will be like the A5 range unveiled in July.
As for the world debut, the third-generation Audi Q5 will bare it all on September 2.
