If there’s one product that Kia has been hyping up for the last couple of months, it’s their first true midsize pickup. Several teasers of the Kia Tasman have been popping up, but the truck itself hasn’t been shown.

Thankfully, that’s all changed as the South Korean automaker has finally shown it. Well, sort of.

The latest batch of photos show the truck wearing colorful camouflage. A bit of an oxymoron there, but it does a decent job of hiding some details. Still, that’s not enough for us to take an even closer look at it to find more interesting bits.

At the front, the boxy look is largely confirmed now, along with its slim stacked headlights and massive grille. We’re genuinely curious just how small (or large) those headlights are give the amount of real estate still available there. Its beefy-looking front bumpers look ready for the aftermarket crowd too.

Over to its flanks, we see box-flared wheel arches, so the ones from the previous spy shot are legit. The high window sills give the impression of a greater size, while the rear passenger window kicks upwards for a bit of flair. There are no rear shot of the truck just yet, so it will be interesting to see what the final product will look like.

There are no photos of the interior yet, either. But give the, um, utilitarian theme of the exterior, we’re expecting similar in there. Massive screens are to be expected like in most models coming out of South Korea lately.

As for the engines, that’s also up in the air. That said, we wouldn’tt be surprised if we see the familiar 2.2-liter turbodiesel mill that’s used across the Hyundai-Kia family. We'd like to see at least 200hp and 450Nm of torque, figures that's now practically become the norm in the segment.

So, when will the Kia Tasman make its full reveal? Even the manufacturer is tight-lipped about that. Still, we’re expecting it sooner than later given that it has practically shown the truck in the metal.
