It’s the start of another racing season for Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH), and for 2025, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer will be sending a new group of riders to represent our country at the Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC).
YMPH announced the 2025 Yamaha Philippines Racing Team lineup after an open track day held recently at the Carmona Racing Circuit. There’ll be a new face joining the roster this year—seasoned riders Mckinley Kyle Paz and April King Mascardo will be entering the regional competition with their new teammate EJ Sobretodo.

Sobretodo was selected among a group of riders who went through the Yamaha Philippines Racing Team’s training program. He’s no beginner, having already joined the ARRC in 2016. He brings to the team his great work ethic and passion for racing, as he looks to secure wins and podium finishes for Yamaha alongside Mascardo in the UB150 category astride the Yamaha Sniper 150. Fun fact, Sobretodo and Mascardo have shared the track as teammates before, so this also won’t be their first outing together. Paz, meanwhile, will represent the Blu Cru in the SS600 category with the Yamaha R6.
