Well, that didn’t take long.
Do you recall the drift-spec A90 Toyota Supra that had its 3.0-liter turbo swapped with the MkIV’s legendary 2JZ engine (and one tuned to churn out 800hp at that)? We reported it a week or two back. Well, it’s out of commission for the time being. The reason? The sports car burst into flames during an exhibition a few days ago.
Daigo Sato’s viral Supra literally lit up during the Monster Energy D1GP All-Star shootout. No one’s exactly sure why—at least not yet—but from the images courtesy of Instagram user
“Still a few teething troubles for Daigo’s new #Supra,”
That Supra’s heating up the competition, all right. Unfortunately, it’s in ways no JDM lover would want it to. Hopefully, we’ll see Sato’s 2JZ A90 Supra back in action sooner rather than later.
