The all-new Mazda 3 is arriving in the Philippine market on August 13, 2019. Mazda Philippines has already sent out the save-the-date for the event, and while the company doesn’t state exactly what it’s launching, the image on the invitation speaks for itself. Look:

Yes, that is the compact car’s face you’re looking at. Speculation that the all-new 3’s launch is imminent began once photos of the vehicle on local soil, being transported on board a flatbed on an expressway, started making the rounds online last month. Now, it’s official.
We got to try out the vehicle at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia a little over a week ago, and over there, the all-new Mazda 3 can be had with either a 1.5-liter (118hp at 6,000rpm and 153Nm at 4,000rpm) or a 2.0-liter (162hp at 6,000rpm and 213Nm at 4,000rpm) Skyactiv-G engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Skyactiv-X engine is not available in that market.

We’ll find out for sure what local units will come with once the 3 makes it official debut less than two weeks for now. If you’re planning to buy a premium compact sedan or hatch in the near future, you’ll probably want to wait and see what Mazda Philippines brings in.
