Just in case you didn’t know, the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) isn’t the only automotive spectacle happening next week. We’ve also got the 2024 Philippine EV Summit coming up, and fittingly, it’s there that BYD Cars Philippines will debut yet another offering for the local market: the 2025 BYD Seal.
This model will be BYD’s second sedan offering in our country, slotting below the luxury-oriented Han. Teasers are already up, confirming that it will be launched on October 25, 2024.

At this point, of course, we don’t have variant and pricing details for the Seal just yet. What the preview on the carmaker’s website does confirm is that the spec for our market will have ‘up to 530ps of raw electric power’ and do 0-100kph in 3.8sec. That output is equivalent to roughly 523hp, meaning we will get the dual-motor AWD variant. It will likely come with an 82.kWh battery that delivers a WLTP combined range of 570km.

This member of the ‘Ocean’ series rides on the BYD e-Platform 3.0 and is the first model to use the cell-to-body or CTB technology. In this architecture, the Blade battery comes integrated into the body itself, contributing to the structural integrity of the vehicle.

Other things we know so far are that the Seal won an iF Design Award in 2023, and inside, there’s the trademark rotating touchscreen right at the center of the dashboard as well as a panoramic sunroof. It won’t be long before we get all the details, though—the launch is just a week away. And if you want to be one of the first to see it on Philippine soil, best head over to the SMX Convention Center on the 25th.
