Exterior

The Seal 5 DM-i boasts a classy design, with horizontal slats on the wide, gaping grille and minimal lines on the body. At the rear, it gets a taillight that spans the width of the trunk, similar to what you’ll find in the Sealion 6 DM-i.
Now, we said it’s compact-sized, and that’s because the Seal 5 DM-i measures 4,780mm long, 1,837mm wide, and 1,495mm tall with a 2,718mm wheelbase. The base variant sits on 16-inch wheels, while the top-spec gets 17-inch wheels. Curb weight for the Seal 5 DM-i is listed at 1,515kg, while the Premium is at 1,620kg.
Interior

The inside of the Seal 5 DM-i is adorned by a good mix of hard plastics and premium, soft-touch materials. Leather seats come as standard, and they’re stitched in nice white leather. There’s also an abundance of tactile buttons and knobs on the center console.
Overall, the interior looks clean, if a bit loud. It’s also very spacious for a subcompact sedan, and you can thank the vehicle’s large body for that.
Engine and specs

The all-new Seal 5 DM-i is powered by an electric motor with a range extender. There are two configurations available—the Dynamic gets an 8.3kWh battery powering the 177hp, 316Nm electric motor. This is good for an electric-only range of 50km and a combined extended range of 1,175km.
The Premium variant, meanwhile, is equipped with an 18.3kWh battery and a 194hp, 325Nm electric motor promising an electric range of 115km and a combined extended range of 1,240km.
Acceleration times from a standstill to 100kph for the Seal 5 DM-i are 7.9sec for the Dynamic and 7.3sec for the Premium.
Extra features

The loudest feature inside the Seal 5 DM-i is the 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. This is paired with either a six- or eight-speaker setup. Automatic climate control comes as standard, while the top-spec gets exclusive amenities like the 360-degree-view camera and sunroof.
The Premium variant also adds vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, and purchases come with a V2L adapter.
