The new-look Changan CS55 Plus has made its first appearance in the Philippines here at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show. The facelift showcases a futuristic look, with lightbars adorning the front and rear. The scale-like hexagon pattern grille also reinforces an imposing head-on stance.

This model on display was equipped with an internal combustion engine, just like the currently offered CS55 Plus. Unfortunately, no specs were provided for this preview. However, we did manage to take a look at its spec in Changan’s home market of China.

Chinese market specs indicate a slight performance bump in the engine, which now outputs at 189hp and 310Nm of torque. The seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission is also being retained, and power is still sent to the front wheels.

Interestingly, we also learned that a PHEV variant of this facelifted CS55 Plus is also bound for the Philippines later this year. This information hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but an electrified version would probably entail power and efficiency gains.

Regardless of ICE or PHEV variant, we feel it’s likely that the update to Changan’s offering in the compact crossover segment will retain its sporty spirit. We’ll stay tuned as more information on the facelifted Changan CS55 Plus surfaces.
