Morris Garages has unveiled the MG G50 PHEV and the MG 5 Prestige at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
The MG G50 PHEV is the brand’s plug-in hybrid version of its seven-seater MPV, priced at P1,398,888. It’s a frugal MPV with a range of over 1,400km on a single tank of gas, complemented by an electric-only range of 95km.

Inside, you’ll find a 12.3-inch dual screen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a slot for wireless phone charging, and captain seats. Accessing the boot is easy through a power tailgate.

Design-wise, the G50 PHEV features sleeker and more modern headlights compared to its non-hybrid sibling. The official powertrain specs for the Philippine market have not been posted yet as of writing, but based on the G50 PHEV launched in China last year, we might expect a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a front-mounted electric motor and an 18.65kWh battery delivering 214hp and 280Nm of torque.
The MG 5 Prestige, on the other hand, is a more feature-packed version of the MG 5. Priced at P888,888, it’s still designed for young car buyers looking to purchase their first vehicle. It has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT—with manual mode—and delivers 108hp and 142Nm of torque.

Inside, the compact sedan has a 10.25-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reverse parking camera, an electric sunroof, and rear air vents and USB ports. It also has automatic LED headlights with a follow-me-home feature, which when activated, leaves the headlights turned on for up to 90 seconds after you’ve turned off the ignition and locked the doors. Other features that set it apart from the regular MG 5 include sportier LED tail
lights and 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
You can check out both the MG G50 PHEV and the MG 5 Prestige at the brand’s booth in MIAS. The event runs from April 9 until April 12, 2026. Will you be stopping by?
