First seen in the region at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show 2025 and previewed again in 2026, we’ve already spotted the BYD Sealion 7 as it makes its rounds in Southeast Asia. Now, it’s the Philippines’s turn: the Sealion 7 is here at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show.
Just like its plug-in hybrid Sealion siblings, the BYD Sealion 7 seats five as a midsize SUV. It stands out from the Sealion 5 and 6, however, by going fully electric. In other markets abroad where the Sealion 7 is already available, total system output is 523hp and 690Nm of torque for the all-wheel-drive model. The RWD model is no slouch either, making 308hp and 380Nm of torque.

BYD’s signature Blade Battery powers the Sealion 7. It’s good for 82.5 kWh, which translates to 542km of range for the AWD model or 567km of range for the RWD model.

The Sealion 7 will be available later this year, and interested buyers can make their reservation for a P50,000 payment. The full prices have yet to be revealed, but this should place it in prime cross-shopping territory against the likes of the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Variants and finishes as well have not been disclosed, but we can expect the Premium AWD trim and a more basic RWD configuraiton.

If you’re in the market for an electric midsize crossover or SUV, will you be holding out for the BYD Sealion 7? Stay tuned with us as we continue to cover this year’s electrification-heavy Manila International Auto Show.
