We first got wind of Tesla’s upsized crossover when it first launched in China last year. Earlier this month we got Department of Energy recognition, and just this week, we saw it at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show.

Now, it’s official: the six-seater Tesla Model Y L has arrived in the Philippine market with indicative prices starting at P2.849 million. Once Tesla Philippines releases the official SRP, we’ll update this story.

The Model Y L is 186mm longer and 44mm taller than the typical Model Y we’ve become familiar with. This lets the car carry a third row of seats, while upgrading the second row bench into captain chairs with ventilation and reclining functions. And there’s still plenty of space after all that reconfiguring: maximum cargo capacity now sits at 2,539 liters (compared to the Model Y’s 2,138 liters of space).

Tesla offers a single battery and motor spec for the Model Y L. It’s equipped with a dual motor setup for a combined system power of 506hp, powered by an 88.2kWh lithium-ion battery. Power is sent to all four wheels thanks to the AWD drivetrain. Tesla claims a 0 to 100kph time of less than 5sec, but some buyers might find the 681km of WLTP range more impressive.

The Model Y L can be had with a new paint option dubbed ‘Cosmic Silver’, and the whole package sits on 19-inch ‘Machina 2.0’ rims. Will you be considering this for your next family hauler?
