In a 155km fuel economy run organized by the Department of Energy, the Chery Tiggo rEV Luxury Edition led all plug-in hybrid vehicles by returning an impressive 84.28km/Lge. The entire run saw over 70 vehicles participating, with combustion-engined, fully electric, and hybrid vehicles in the mix.
Because the Tiggo rEV has driving modes that are fully dependent on the battery, the car’s overall efficiency was converted to a fuel-consumption equivalent.

The Tiggo rEV LE was able to pull this efficiency through Chery’s Super Hybrid system, which is built around a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a 18.66kWh battery. It’s rated for over 1,400km on a fully charged battery and a topped-up tank of gas. In terms of power, the plug-in hybrid crossover outputs 201hp and 310Nm of torque.
