In 2023, when Honda Cars Philippines launched the hybrid CR-V RS e:HEV, it became the Japanese brand’s de facto flagbearing vehicle—notwithstanding the Civic Type R, of course. And to this day, it is still Honda’s most expensive offering—again, after the FL5.
There hasn’t been a solid update since then, but it looks like the Department of Energy (DOE) is ready for the next iteration of Honda’s prized SUV. Indicated in the department’s list of recognized electric vehicles are the RS AWD and VX variants of the CR-V e:HEV.

If these are brought into the local market, the VX trim will replace the existing ICE variant and should provide a more affordable entry point into electrification, while the AWD would likely replace the current RS trim in lineup.

The DOE has also published the spec sheets for the updated CR-Vs, but it should be noted that these may not be the official units that enter the country. In any case, these details should give us a better idea of what the next hybrid CR-Vs will look like.

Both the VX and AWD variants will get the familiar dual-motor e:HEV hybrid system that makes 146hp at 6,100rpm and 183Nm of torque at 4,500rpm on the engine. The dual motors then output 181hp at around 5,000rpm and 335Nm at 2,000rpm. The system is mated to Honda’s electronically continuously variable transmission.
As its name suggests, the RS AWD CR-V will get a real-time all-wheel-drive system, along with RS-branded garnishes and other accessories. More RS logos will be found on the seats, coupled with a 12-speaker sound system from Bose. A more robust eight-sensor parking system will also be added to the RS AWD variant.

Both variants will be loaded with Honda Sensing, the brand’s suite of advanced driver-assist systems. Keyless entry with smart cards will also be available on the 2026 hybrid CR-Vs. If you want to check out the full spec sheet, click on these blue words.
