Car enthusiasts and sports-car lovers, rejoice, for your long-standing prayer has been answered: The iconic Chevrolet Corvette is finally making its official Philippine debut.
Covenant Car Company, the country’s official Chevrolet distributor, has announced that the sports car will be unveiled later this week at the Chevrolet Motorama 2018, which takes place at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall. The best part is you can see the car for yourself in the metal from November 22 to 28.
This has been a long time coming. We wrote as far back as January last year that the Corvette’s arrival was imminent. Now in its seventh generation, the quintessentially American car been going strong since its debut in 1953. The Corvette Stingray, which by all indications will be the model shown at Megamall, is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 with 460hp, and can reach 0-60mph in a mere 3.7sec (0-100kph in 4.1sec). And like all ’Vettes, it has its engine up front and all that power sent to the rear wheels.
