Remember the Chevrolet Spark? For those born in this millennia, it was a subcompact hatchback that spanned three generations from 1998 to 2015, at least in most parts of the world.

Locally, the Spark was sold here around the mid-‘00s until its discontinuation in 2015. It found a fair bit of success, serving as Chevrolet’s entry-level model. Ten years have passed since the name was used, but now, it’s back.

However, it’s no longer the tiny hatchback (or sedan) that it once was. For the 2025 model year, it returns as a subcompact electric crossover. Now dubbed the Chevrolet Spark EUV, it may look familiar to some of our readers.

That’s mainly because the revived Spark is a rebadged Baojun Yep. Also known as the Baojun Yue, the Chevrolet version uses the more practical five-door body as its basis. In its home market, the extended Yep is known as the Yep Plus.

In terms of looks, the Spark EUV is a dead-ringer for the Yep. Only the badges were changed for this subcompact EV. The same can be said about its interior. With that, this crossover comes with dual 10.25-inch screens, a relatively generous amount of soft-touch materials, and room for four.

For tech, it comes standard with advanced driver assist systems. A little fun fact about it is that it uses tech from DJI. So yes, DJI doesn’t just make gadgets for content creation. The company (apparently) goes far beyond that.

For now, there are no details about the powertrain. However, there’s a good chance that it’ll be carried over straight from the Yep five-door. The single electric motor makes 100hp and 180Nm of torque. Meanwhile, its 41.9kWh battery gives it a range of up to 401km, at least according to the China light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC).
