Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 is nearly upon us, and we all know what that means: Custom-built cars all around. Some Japanese tuners will surely steal the spotlight, and we already have our eyes on a build from DAMD, and it features the Honda WR-V.

Officially dubbed the DAMD WR-V Reverb, this is a wild, Jeep Cherokee-inspired take on the Japanese carmaker’s small crossover. In case you aren’t familiar with what it originally looked like, here’s Japan’s version, and here’s the ASEAN-spec one. Done peeking? DAMD’s creation looks wild, doesn’t it?

DAMD has completely redone the front end, taking out the grille and headlights and replacing them with more rugged-looking bits. The front fascia now looks more retro with those boxy trim and headlamps and really do make it look like a mini Cherokee.

The exterior plastic claddings underneath have been retained, but the wheels have been swapped out for a beefier design that almost look like steelies.

DAMD has also given us a glimpse of the interior, where the WR-V Reverb now gets plaid fabric seats. Very retro, very Cherokee-like. If American carmakers built tiny crossovers like the WR-V back in the day, this might be what those vehicles looked like.

This will be on display later this week at TAS 2025, so expect to see more photos of it circulating cyberspace come then. This will be joined by DAMD’s other creations including a Toyota Sienta, Honda N-Box, and Daihatsu Taft. If you ask us, though, the WR-V’s easily the highlight of the lineup. What do you guys think of this one?
