Over the past 12 months, the Hyundai Creta has seen several changes and updates. For starters, there’s the heavy facelift that’s now applied to most markets and something we’re looking forward to down the line.

A few months after the release of the updated model, a new variant was introduced to the Creta lineup in the form of the N-Line. Now, to kick off 2025, a pure electric model is now available, at least for India in the meantime.

It’s simply called the Creta Electric, and there are two battery options available for it. Entry-level models come with a 42kWh battery, while higher-spec trim levels get the larger 51.4kWh pack. For range, the 42kWh version is rated up to 390km, while the 51.4kWh models can get up to 473km. Those numbers are based on the Indian ARAI method.

Those are pretty solid numbers for a small electric crossover, but what about performance? Hyundai didn’t release any horsepower and torque figures just yet. However, the company does claim a 0 to 100kph time of 7.9 seconds which can be described as quick for its segment. As for charging times, 10 percent to 80 percent takes 50 minutes with DC charging. 10 percent to 100 percent charging via AC charging take 4 hours.

Several exterior and exterior changes were made to differentiate Hyundai Creta Electric from the fuel-fed models. The front bumper is completely different with a fully closed-off grille and a ‘pixelated’ pattern on the trims.

The bottom half of the bumper features active aerodynamics with grille shutters, while the charging port is located dead center of the front bumper. Unique alloy wheels and rear bumper caps off the differences.

Inside, the Creta Electric gets a different steering wheel, as well as new graphics on the digital instrument cluster. Three driving modes have been added, and it even comes standard with V2L or Vehicle-To-Load capabilities. Yes, this battery-powered crossover can power a home in case of emergencies.
