Another month, another new player in the automotive market. Chinese car brand DFSK has announced its entry to the Philippines, and it’s brought along with it an initial three-car lineup that we reckon will pique several car buyers’ interest.
Headlining the roster is the Candy Mini EV, a cute little car that’s set to take on another Chinese EV—the Jetour Ice Cream. The DFSK Candy boasts a maximum range of 220km on a one full charge of its 16.8kWh battery. It’s powered by a 30kW electric motor and charges from zero to 100 in four and a half hours. The price tag? A competitive P658,000.

The second model in the lineup is the DFSK E5 PHEV, a seven-seater SUV that’s powered by a 130kW motor and boasts a maximum range of 1,150km. Said range, we assume, includes full utilization of both the hybrid battery and the 1.5-liter gasoline engine. It’s available in two variants, with the base Deluxe stickering for P1.580 million and the higher Ultimate trim for P1.88 million.

Completing the new DFSK stable is the DFSK EC75, an electric commercial logistics van that promises a maximum range of 310km. It can recharge from zero to full in 45 minutes with a DC charger and in 10.5 hours with an AC charger. It’s only available in one trim that stickers for P1.45 million.
