The first production unit of Ferrari’s maiden battery electric vehicle has just sold at auction for a whopping $40 million, or around P2.47 billion. RM Sotheby’s recently finalized the sale of the Ferrari Luce Tailor Made, which bears chassis number ZFF21BUA8T0338000—or simply Chassis 0.
According to the auction house, the pioneering EV sold 36 times over its manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1.1 million (around P67.7 million). That’s almost double a standard Luce’s sticker price of $640,000 (around P39.4 million). Proceeds from the sale will go toward the Ferrari Foundation, a public charity which supports “future educational initiatives.”

With that, this specific Luce gets a unique Madreperla semi-gloss paint job, with matching white wheels and bespoke brake callipers. Inside, Perla Le Mans leather wraps the cabin to complete the monochrome motif.

This sale has been recognized as the most expensive new car ever sold at auction. The buyer is reportedly American billionaire and optometrist Herbert Wertheim, who made headlines in 2025 for purchasing another Tailor Made Ferrari. Specifically, it was an SP3 Daytona, which he bought for $26 million (around P1.59 billion).
He is scheduled to receive his special Luce in the first quarter of 2027, while regular deliveries are expected to roll out before the end of 2026. At the time of writing, there is still no word on when the Luce will arrive in the Philippines. Until we receive an official announcement, here are more photos of the Luce Tailor Made Chassis 0.
