It has been 60 years since the Ford Mustang was introduced at the World's Fair in New York, US. 10 million unit sales later, it is still going strong and enjoying a loyal following.

To celebrate this milestone, Ford Philippines brought together members of the Mustang Club Philippines, the Mustang Enthusiasts Philippines, and Mustang owners and fans for an anniversary bash at the Palacio de Memoria in Parañaque. But there was a surprise waiting: An exclusive first look at the all-new Mustang slated to be launched in May 2024.

Mustang owners drove to the venue to form a motorcade showcasing the sports coupe’s storied evolution through the years. The oldest Mustang was a 1965 Fastback and a 1965 Shelby; both still looking timeless and iconic.

As a bonus, guests were treated to an exclusive peek at the 7th-generation all-new Mustang. Jim Owens, GTD Mustang Brand Manager, also joined the festivities virtually to share his stories and experiences about the development of Mustang through the years.

And as part of the Mustang’s 60th anniversary, Ford also debuted a special Vermillion Red and Ebony Black logo, inspired by the badging and wheel center caps on the Mustang that debuted at the 1964 World’s Fair, at the New York Auto Show.

For the latest Mustang, the GT Premium Fastback variant is equipped with a 5.0LTi-VCT V8 engine that’s mated to a 10-Speed automatic transmission capable of producing 486hp and 567Nm of torque.?Meanwhile, the EcoBoost Premium Fastback variant comes with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine mated to a 10-Speed SelectShift Automatic Transmission capable of  315hp and 475Nm of torque.

Previously available in the GT Premium variant only, both variants of the coming 2024 Mustang will have the MagneRide Damping System that increase comfort while expanding the performance limits of the sports coupe. Coupled with Brembo brakes, the new Mustang promises stopping power and control for the driver’s peace of mind. Occupants will also like the leather-trimmed Recaro sport seats and soft touch accents.

And while it is a muscle car, the Mustang didn’t scrimp on safety and entertainment. A new Magnesium Framed 13-inch Colored Center Display offers seamless connectivity with the vehicle, with SYNC 4 and Enhanced Voice Recognition, and wireless mobile charging.

There is also a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Auto High Beam Headlights, Post Impact Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering Assist function. In addition, the All-New Mustang also has Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Evasive Steer Assist that alert and assists the driver if a potential collision is detected.

“The Mustang has undergone evolution over the last six decades, but one thing remains the same—the Mustang’s unparalleled driving performance that represents the spirit of freedom, passion, and innovation. We are thrilled to join the global celebration of Mustang’s 60th anniversary, but most of all, we are excited to open the next chapter for this icon with the launch of the all-new Mustang in the Philippines in May,” says Mike Breen, managing director of Ford Philippines.
