Believe it or not, the current generations of the Ford Ranger and Everest are already four and three years old, respectively. Despite that, these models remain high in demand with interested seemingly not waning off.
Of course, it helps that there have been several special editions that have released since then. Plus, there are halo models like the Raptor and Tremor that further boost appeal.

However, Ford can’t rely on just special editions and unique variants alone. Besides, the all-new Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport are coming, while the Isuzu Mu-X has been given a substantial update.

Ford isn’t resting its laurels, though. An executive from the company has confirmed that an update for both models is coming soon, and it can’t come any sooner. It was confirmed by none other than Ford’s EV Digital and Design Chief, Doug Field.

With that, we can expect a major overhaul of its infotainment system. “Software can sit in several types of electrical layouts, and in our plan, we’ll innovate within a layout that draws from our existing platform instead of building a whole new one. For example, we will be able to take our very successful Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience that we’ve launched in the Ford Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus and Navigator to many more products like Mustang, Bronco, Ranger, and F-150.”
Looking at the dash of the heavily updated Ford Explorer, there’s a good chance the Ranger and Everest could get the similar look. Perhaps a larger screen is underway, along with a redesigned digital instrument cluster. We might even see a few changes to the dashboard itself.

On top of those, a higher level of advanced driver assists is also lined up for the Ford Ranger and Everest. Bluecruise, the company’s name for its latest semi-autonomous driving system, has been mentioned. Google Assistant will also be added in.
Other hardware changes are to be expected. The improvements to the 3.0-liter V6 Powerstroke diesel could make its way to the Ranger and Everest, and there might be some tweaks to the 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesels. Exterior updates could see tweaked bumpers and grille, along with new wheel designs and color choices.

There is no launch date locked in just yet, but we might see these new models by mid-2026 or 2027.
