Safe to say there’s no shortage of Ford Ranger variants out there. In the Philippines alone, there’s a staggering seven trim levels to choose from. Outside the country, however, that number is even greater.
Take Australia, for example. There are eight main trims to choose from, along with four body styles in either two or four-wheel drive. Now, there’s another one joining the range.

For the Australian market at least, there’s now the Ford Ranger Tremor. It doesn’t sit at the top of the pickup’s variant hierarchy, but it’s more of a ‘value’ 4x4 model. A stripped-down 4x4 variant with off-road goodies fitted as standard? Now should whet the appetite of the off-roading community.
The Tremor sits just above the Ranger Sport and below the Wildtrak model. With it comes beefier all-terrain tires, higher ground clearance, and a wider wheel track. It’s also taller by 24mm and wider by 30mm.

There Tremor also includes a honeycomb grille with integrated LED daytime running lights, along with a sports bar on the bed. Additional tow hooks adorn the front end, while skid plates and fuel tank guards are also included.
Powering the Ranger Tremor is the familiar 2.0-liter biturbo diesel engine. Power is unchanged from other Ranger variants, meaning 210 hp and 500Nm of torque. It then shifts with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is, of course, standard, as well as a rear differential lock.

It’s unknown if the Tremor will be offered for ASEAN markets. In some ways, this is an indirect successor to the FX4 Max that was offered in the previous generation model. Given that there’s a strong off-roader/overlander market here, perhaps Ford Philippines should consider bringing it here.
