The Honda Accord e:HEV is currently on display at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, and it has got us in our feelings. It’s been over two years since the Accord was discontinued in the Philippines, and the local-midsize sedan segment hasn’t been the same since.

Granted, this is a depleting segment with the Toyota Camry and the Mazda 6 just keeping it alive. But in a country full of crossovers and MPVs, perhaps electrified powertrains can spark new interest in midsize sedans.

Locally, the Civic RS e:HEV is the brand’s lone electrified sedan. It packs a solid punch while keeping fuel usage efficient, but the sporty compact four-door may not appeal to those who value an executive look and a more comfortable backseat. That’s where the Accord e:HEV comes in.

Along with the City e:HEV, which is also on display at BIMS, Honda can provide a trio of electrified sedans that can suit anyone’s needs.

The City e:HEV can be an accessible option for those who want something small and simple. The electrified Civic has already taken the hearts of spirited drivers, and the hybrid Accord can provide a comfortable option in the midsize-sedan segment.

Would you want to see a resurgence of sedans in the local market? We most certainly do, and Honda could just be the brand to kick it off.
