Honda’s baby sedan gets a full model change for 2025. The new-generation Amaze features an all-new platform, baby City looks, and even some tech from its bigger siblings.
The third-generation Honda Amaze has just made its world premiere in India. With that, its main target is the redesigned Suzuki Dzire, as well as other sub 4-meter sedans that are popular there.

In terms of design, it borrows elements from its platform-mate, the Elevate. At the front, it has slim wraparound headlights and a large, squared-off grille. Towards the side, it boasts a sleeker profile that gives it a more harmonious look compared to the last two generations. As for the rear, it draws inspiration from the City with its long tail lights and kicked up trunklid. It's come a long way since its ‘Honda Brio with a trunk’ days.
For the interior, it adapts Honda’s ‘Man Maximum, Machine Minimum’ philosophy as seen in the Civic and HR-V. Like the two cars mentioned, it has a two-layer dashboard design with a flat fascia. A floating screen stands in the middle of the dash, while the air-conditioning controls are placed on a small pod. There’s no shortage of cubby spaces inside, as emphasized by the sizable pocket just below the air-con controls.

Entry-level variants get cloth trim but higher spec models come with a two-tone cabin with tan leatherette seats. Wireless charging is also available, and all trim levels get a semi-digital instrument cluster.
More importantly, the all-new Amaze comes standard with Honda Sensing. It includes features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and more. Honda adds that it is first in the segment to offer an advanced driver assist system of that level. Other safety features include six airbags, Honda’s signature LaneWatch camera, stability control, and tire pressure monitoring.

Powering the 2025 Honda Amaze is the familiar 1.2-liter, four-cylinder i-VTEC engine. Power ratings are unchanged from before with an output of 89hp and 110Nm. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual or continuously variable (CVT). Claimed fuel economy figures are rated at 18.6km/L for the manual and 19.4km/L for the CVT.
With the all-new Amaze out, does this mean we can expect the next-generation Honda Brio soon? It’s worth pointing out that the Amaze and Brio ride on different platforms, but it’s possible that Honda could bring the two models under one chassis again. Given that the current Brio is already six years old, it might be time for a full model change for the small hatchback and use the Amaze’s underpinnings.
