We’ve been hearing rumors (and have seen leaked images, even) of the 2027 Honda City over the past few months. Now, the new-look sedan has been officially unveiled over in India.

This is already the second refresh of this generation, but in terms of aesthetics, this is more significant than the first one. The front end has been given a major overhaul, with the chrome strips removed to make way for the light bar highlighting the grille. Speaking of grille, there are two separate honeycomb-patterned trim on the front fascia.

The front clip retains its shape, but its silhouette now looks much sleeker. It’s almost Prelude-like, with the way the hood is outlined by the headlights and DRLs. Its side profile appears untouched,  while the rear gets subtle tweaks that give it a more aggressive look. It might be hard to notice, but the top end of the taillights are now aligned with the actual trunk handle, and it makes for a somewhat angrier vibe.

On the inside, Honda has given the new City a new and improved infotainment system, which we assume is still equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 10.1-inch touchscreen is a big jump from the old one, and it now serves as the display for the new 360-degree camera. It’s also accentuated with a small lightbar underneath that matches the ambient lighting inside the cabin.

Speaking of which, that feature is also new, along with a wireless charging pad on the center console and ventilation for the front seats. Thankfully, Honda has retained the physical knobs for the A/C controls.

As with most refreshes, though, the City sees no major mechanical changes. It still can be had with either a 1.5-liter gasoline engine or an e:HEV powertrain—the latter of which we still have yet to see in the Philippines.

We’re guessing availability of the features will depend on the variant, which Honda says four are available in India. We can’t grab hold of a proper spec sheet just yet, but we’re willing to bet that some of the premium features can only be had in the range-topping trim. Save for Honda Sensing features, though—it’s highly likely that the bare minimum driver assists will be available across the lineup is just like how it is here in our market.

What do you guys think of the new-look Honda City? Is this something you’d like to see in our market soon? But more important, do you think it’s high time for Honda Cars Philippines to bring in the City e:HEV?
